Advanced wipe test counter

The Wiper is the most advanced wipe test / well counter / smear counter available today. The Wiper features a 4096 channel (12-bit) analyzer and unique automatic DPM calculation called AutoSpect.

AutoSpect can determine DPM for any gamma emitting isotope under 1 MEV without the need for a reference standard.

Nothing else even comes close!

Yet the key to any good instrument is ease of use. The best features in the world are of no value if the software is too difficult to use. By integrating a graphical display and an alphanumeric keypad, we make the menu based software, simple to navigate. No arrow keys or scrolling needed to get between functions. No confusing paths to remember; just straight forward, simple dialogue.

Take a look at our feature list below. You will quickly get an idea of the level of sophistication built into this counter. You will also see, through the screens shown, just how easy the software is to use.

- Easy isotope identification

- Extensive customizable isotope library

- 4096 channel MCA

- Wipe results in DPM

- Schilling and CPM Tests

- Automatic detector gain adjust with Cs137 or Co57

- Program up to 40 wipe locations

- Advanced MCA mode for physicists and RSOs

  1. -Comprehensive system diagnostics

System Features and Navigation

Easy to follow, clear concise menus will have you breezing through the software in no time. Using the alpha numeric keypad, you simply make your menu choice and press the enter key.

The Wiper has built in detector gain calibration, and efficiency routines, to make monitoring the Wipers performance simple and accurate.

The Wipe Test Library

Also referred to as the Location Library, allows for up to 40 wipe locations. The Wiper can accommodate even the largest facility. You can choose to enter a specific isotope per location, or you may scan the entire spectrum to identify any contaminate.

Using a peak search routine, the Wiper can help you identify any Isotopes found. With three different ways to determine detector efficiency, your results will always report in accurate DPM, CPM, Becquerels and Nano Curie.

The Isotope Library

Built-in Tests

CPM TEST

This routine allows you to use the Wiper as a counts per minute (CPM) counter.

The information required for this test is.

  1. 1. The name of the run.

  2. 2. The isotope will you use.

  3. 3. The counting time.

  4. 4. Do you want to print the results?

  5. 5. Do you want to subtract background?

SCHILLING TEST

Schilling is a test that refers a patient sample to a standard. These tests allow you to compare a range of samples to determine the % of the isotope in the sample compared to a standard quantity.

The Schilling Test requires three tubes to be counted.

  1. 1. A Non Specific Activity(NSA) or Blank tube whose count value is subtracted from all other tubes.

  2. 2. A Patient Sample tube

  3. 3. A Standard tube

MCA Functions

The Wiper contains a powerful Multi-Channel Analyzer that will make your physicist smile. The MCA contains routines to let you set a Region of Interest (ROI), run a Peak ID, Full Width Half Max calculation (FWHM), correct for gamma efficiency with AutoSpect, set a marker channel, and more. No other well counter has these feature for such a small price.

Diagnostics

The ability to self monitor and calibrate your instrument is paramount to keeping your lab efficient. The Wiper has many diagnostic routines built-in to help determine the health of the unit.

Periodic checks such as background, and efficiency help maintain the calibration of the unit. Semi annual routines like Gain Adjust, FWHM, Chi Square and RAM tests, give you a firm picture of Wiper performance and durability.

AutoSpect

The Wiper well counters now incorporate a unique new feature that we have developed. AutoSpect uses a combination of hardware and software to compensate for detector efficiency variations across the energy spectrum. AutoSpect corrects for this energy variance behind the scenes, without the need for user intervention. This delivers superior results, more accurate DPM readings, and hassle-free regulatory compliance. AutoSpect can be used manually in the VIEW SPECTRUM mode, or activated to automatically run with no user intervention. With AutoSpect, the detector efficiency is adjusted to 100%. This corrected number of events captured is called “corrected CPM”.
